But I understand that some things had to be slimmed down in order to make this work, and so far, all the sacrifices are things I’ve been willing to part with. My Barbarian, for instance, cannot wield a sword and shield or a two-handed weapon, only two-weapons, berserker-style.

It will be shorter, and it has been streamlined. I never feel like the game isn’t doing what I tell it to, and the system they’ve developed here is fantastic. The touch controls for one-off, aimed and channeling skills all feel shockingly good, all with some amount of auto-aim in there to help you out rather than frustrate you. Like I was when I played the alpha, I am deeply impressed with how Diablo Immortal plays on my iPad, and also impressed with the fact that they realized they should do a PC port as well, which launches later today, in case everyone does not in fact, have phones.
